General Dancing Sessions
Thursday evenings from 8:00 pm until 10:30 pm from 10th September, 2009 until 17th June, 2010.  The only exception is that there are no sessions on 24th December, 2009 and also on 21st January, 2010, which is the evening before our Burns Night.

Unless otherwise stated, all events take place in St Mark's Church Hall, Church Hill Road, Surbiton.

The first night of our new season - 10th September - is just before  Dance Scottish Week.  There is a list on the website of the London Branch of the RSCDS giving details of all the Dance Scottish Week events in the South-East during the period from 12th to 19th September.

Special Evenings - Apart from the annual Burns' Night Dinner Dance held in January, on these evenings we have a Canadian supper (in other words we all bring some food to share and the Society adds the wine to keep our spirits high).  But we still manage to pack in 12 or more dances into the evening.

Welcome Evening

1st October, 2009: an ideal evening to bring along some family and friends with some simpler dances on the programme.

St Andrew's Evening
26th November, 2009.  As the long nights set in, come and be cheered up with a special party (photos) with some Scottish (and other) delicacies and a dance programme featuring some St Andrews connections.

Hogmanay Party
31st December, 2009:  Why not see in the New Year, have fun and keep fit, all on one evening?.  We can expect lots of visitors as many other clubs close down over the Christmas period.    Have a look at the photogallery from previous events.

Burns' Supper (Dinner and Dancing)
Our annual celebration of the birthday of Scotland's bard will be held in Claygate village hall on Friday, 22nd January, 2010.  Includes all the usual "haggisy" celebrations and a slightly more serious Immortal Memory.  The event in January, 2009 was as usual a sell-out with 88 members, guests and visitors from a number of local clubs attending.  The haggis was addressed by Peter Fyfe and Stewart Murray proposed the toast to the Immortal Memory.   We have a selection of photos from previous event in the Members' page.

Spring Event (25th March, 2010)

We all get dressed up a bit to welcome in the Spring.

Annual General Meeting
This will be held on 13th May, 2010 at 8:00 pm and followed by a slightly curtailed general dancing session.

End-of-Season Party (17th June 2010)

Get dressed up and come and celebrate another year of fun and frolics.    As with any other of our special events, Non-Members are welcome.

Request a Dance

We have not yet decided on the date for this evening, when the programme is based on requests from the members.  There is sure to be lots of dancing and given the familiarity of many of the dances, we will have shorter walkthroughs.  If you have a favourite dance that you would like us to do at one of our weekly sessions, then don't be shy!  Tell our secretary, David Horwill.

Tuition Sessions
On certain evenings, and in particular when Jim Cook is our MC, we spend a bit more time on tuition.
